POTTERY PAINTING STUDIO
Razzle Dazzle Pots

Spooky pottery, pumpkins that last forever and a little half-term creativity!

Halloween Pottery Painting

It's almost Halloween, and things are looking a little spooky here at Razzle Dazzle Pots!

With the October half-term holidays upon us, we've been busy getting the studio ready for some Halloween pottery painting fun.

We've got some fabulous new pieces on the shelves, plenty of spooky favourites and, best of all, we've been making pumpkins!

Pumpkins Without the Mess (or the Mould!)

We all love a Halloween pumpkin, but let's be honest. You spend ages carving it, getting pumpkin guts everywhere, proudly display it on the windowsill and a few days later it's looking a little worse for wear.

Sound familiar?

Well, we've got a rather lovely alternative!

We've been busy making our own pottery pumpkins, ready for you to come along and paint.

Whether you fancy a traditional bright orange pumpkin, something a little more stylish to match your autumn decorations or a wonderfully spooky creation, the choice is yours.

And the best bit?

No carving, no mess and definitely no mouldy pumpkin on the windowsill!

Once we've glazed and fired your masterpiece, you'll have a fabulous Halloween decoration to bring out year after year.

Much better than starting from scratch every October!

A Little Spooky All Year Round

Of course, we don't reserve all our spooky pottery for Halloween.

We've got a fantastic selection of slightly weird and wonderful pieces available throughout the year, because who says you can only enjoy a little gothic charm in October?

Some of our favourites include:

  • Zombie trinket boxes – perfect for keeping your little treasures safe, although we're not sure we'd trust a zombie with anything too valuable!
  • Frankenstein mugs – because even monsters need a morning coffee.
  • Grim Reaper figurines – surprisingly cute once you've given them a splash of colour.
  • Our ever-popular Mariachi man figurine – always a favourite with customers who fancy painting something a little different.

Whether you're a fan of all things spooky, love a quirky ornament or just enjoy putting your own spin on something unusual, there's plenty to get creative with.

And you certainly don't have to stick to traditional Halloween colours. A pink pumpkin? A pastel Frankenstein? Why not!

That's the lovely thing about pottery painting — there are no rules when it comes to being creative.

One More Week of Half-Term Fun!

If you're looking for something to do with the children during the October school holidays, why not come and spend a couple of hours getting creative with us?

Pottery painting is a lovely way to spend time together, particularly when the autumn weather isn't quite behaving itself.

There's something for everyone, from younger children painting their first little decoration to older kids and teenagers who fancy creating something a bit more adventurous.

And while they're busy choosing their colours, you can enjoy a delicious coffee, hot chocolate or one of our rather fabulous autumn drinks.

Of course, grown-ups are more than welcome to get involved too!

Come and Get Your Spook On!

Halloween is just around the corner, but there's still time to create something special but like we said we do have these all year around, you just need to ask if you don't see them.

Whether you're after a pumpkin to treasure for years, a spooky mug or simply a fun afternoon out during half term, we'd love to see you.

You'll find us at Razzle Dazzle Pots in Mapperley, Nottingham, with shelves full of pottery and plenty of colours to choose from.

We recommend booking your table during school holidays, as it can get rather busy.

Happy Halloween from all of us at Razzle Dazzle Pots — may your pumpkins stay gloriously mould-free!

Baby's first Christmas, personalised baubles and keepsakes to treasure forever.

There's something rather special about those first Christmases with a new baby. The excitement, the family gatherings, the photographs and, of course, all those lovely little traditions that start along the way.

And one of our favourite things to do at Razzle Dazzle Pots is help families capture those tiny hands and feet before they get any bigger!

Every year, our Christmas baby handprints and footprints become incredibly popular, particularly with new mums looking for something a little more personal to remember their baby's first Christmas.

After all, those tiny fingers and toes don't stay tiny for very long!

Baby's First Christmas keepsake

Baby's First Christmas Bauble

There's something so lovely about hanging a personalised bauble on the Christmas tree, especially when it features your baby's very first handprint or footprint.

Our pottery Christmas baubles make wonderful keepsakes, and they're even more special when we turn those little prints into festive characters.

A tiny footprint can become a cheeky reindeer, a snowman or even a Christmas tree. Add a name and the year, and you've got something you'll look forward to unwrapping and hanging on the tree every Christmas.

And while babies might not have much to say about the finished result, we're fairly sure they'll approve when they're older!

Don't Forget Santa's Treat Plate!

Another favourite with our families is the personalised Santa treat plate.

Because, let's face it, Father Christmas is going to need a little refreshment after delivering all those presents!

We can help create a lovely plate ready for Santa's mince pie and Rudolph's carrot, complete with your child's handprints or footprints transformed into festive designs.

They're especially popular with families celebrating their first Christmas with a baby, but they're just as lovely for toddlers and older children.

Imagine bringing the same plate out every Christmas Eve, year after year. It's one of those little family traditions that becomes more special as the children grow.

And who knows, perhaps Father Christmas will leave a few crumbs behind as proof he's visited!

This Christmas Is Extra Special for Me…

This year, I've got a very personal reason to be excited about all these Christmas keepsakes.

I've become a grandma!

My gorgeous little grandson, Amos — although we all call him Moss — is currently four months old, and he'll soon be coming into Razzle Dazzle with his mum and dad to make his very own Christmas keepsakes.

Having spent the last 16 years helping other families create beautiful memories with their babies, it's going to be rather lovely to do the same with my own grandson.

I'm already thinking about those tiny handprints and footprints, and I suspect there might be more than one keepsake made for his first Christmas!

I know I'm biased, but I'm rather looking forward to it.

Little Prints, Lovely Presents

Of course, you don't have to choose a Christmas bauble or Santa plate.

Sometimes the simplest little keepsakes are the most special.

Our 10cm pottery coasters are a brilliant, inexpensive option for capturing tiny hands or feet. They're just the right size for little baby prints and make gorgeous personalised presents for grandparents, aunties, uncles and other family members.

You can keep things simple with a name and date or turn those prints into something fun and colourful.

They're a lovely way to give a thoughtful, handmade gift without spending a fortune.

And we all know how much grandparents love anything featuring those tiny hands and toes!

Clay Imprints – Memories to Treasure All Year Round

If you'd prefer something that isn't Christmas-themed, we also offer beautiful clay imprint keepsakes.

These are a lovely way to capture the actual impression of your baby's tiny hands or feet in clay, creating a lasting memory of just how small they once were.

Unlike a Christmas decoration, clay imprints can be displayed and enjoyed throughout the year.

They're perfect for celebrating a new arrival, marking a special milestone or creating a meaningful gift for someone special.

And of course, there's no need to wait until Christmas to make one!

Let the Christmas Decorating Begin!

Once Halloween is out of the way, we'll be bringing out our Christmas pottery decorations and filling the shelves with lots of lovely festive pieces ready to paint.

These are particularly good for slightly older children who want to create something themselves.

They can choose their own decoration, pick their colours and make something completely unique for the family Christmas tree.

In fact, why not start a new tradition?

babys first Christmas

Choose and paint a new Christmas decoration every year.

Before long, you'll have a collection of handmade decorations, each one bringing back memories of a different Christmas and a different stage of your child's life.

They might not all be perfectly painted, but that's exactly what makes them so special.

Come and Make Some Christmas Memories

Whether you're celebrating your baby's very first Christmas, looking for a thoughtful gift for grandparents or simply fancy starting a new family tradition, we'd love to help.

Our friendly team at Razzle Dazzle Pots in Mapperley, Nottingham, has lots of experience helping with baby handprints and footprints, so don't worry if you're not sure where to start.

For baby prints, we'd particularly recommend visiting during the quieter weekdays, when we can spend a little more time helping you get those precious little prints just right.

And remember, all our painted pottery needs to be glazed and fired before it's ready to collect, so please don't leave your Christmas keepsakes until the very last minute!

More Than Just Pottery Painting… Let's Talk Drinks!

Coffee, matcha, milkshakes, hot chocolate and a little something sweet!

If you've visited Razzle Dazzle Pots recently, you'll know we've been rather busy giving our pottery painting studio a whole new look.

We've shared our lovely new branding, the outside makeover and all the changes we've made inside. But there's one part of Razzle Dazzle that we haven't really talked about yet…

The drinks!

Because while we absolutely love pottery painting, we also think there's something rather lovely about settling down with a delicious drink, good company and a couple of hours to get creative.

And over the years, our drinks menu has grown into something we're really rather proud of!

Hot Chocolate with Cream

Hot Chocolate Heaven

Let's start with one of our favourites — hot chocolate!

There's nothing quite like a lovely hot chocolate while you're painting pottery, particularly when the weather starts turning chilly.

But why stop at an ordinary hot chocolate?

We've got a fabulous selection of flavoured syrups, so you can give yours a little extra something. Whether you fancy a deliciously sweet twist or just want to try something different, there's plenty of opportunity to mix things up.

And let's face it, hot chocolate and a relaxing afternoon painting pottery are a pretty perfect combination.

Coffee, Matcha and All the Classics

Of course, if you're more of a coffee person, we've got you covered.

From a comforting latte or a frothy cappuccino to your favourite cup of tea, there's something for everyone.

And if you prefer your drinks iced, or you're a matcha lover, we've got plenty to tempt you too.

We also offer oat milk as an alternative to cow's milk, so just let us know when ordering.

Whether you're after your usual coffee fix or fancy trying something new, we'll be happy to make you something lovely.

Our Autumn Specials Have Arrived!

One of the things we really enjoy is coming up with new drinks for the changing seasons.

And our autumn selection is rather delicious, even if we do say so ourselves!

This season we've got four fabulous drinks to choose from:

Pumpkin Spice Iced Matcha

A lovely combination of matcha and tasty pumpkin spice cold foam. A little autumn indulgence, served over ice.

Cinnamon Bun Iced Latte

All those delicious cinnamon bun flavours in a creamy iced latte topped with scrumptious white chocolate cold foam. Perfect for anyone who loves a sweet coffee treat.

Caramel Hazelnut Latte

Rich, nutty and wonderfully comforting, all topped off with cream and ginger biscuit treat. Just the thing for a cosy afternoon of pottery painting.

Spiced Chai Hot Chocolate

A gorgeous combination of chocolate and warming chai spices. Autumn in a mug!

Our seasonal specials change throughout the year, so there's usually something new to try, whether you're visiting in the middle of summer or on a chilly autumn afternoon.

And yes, we do get rather excited about inventing them!

Milkshakes Made Just for You

Not in the mood for coffee or hot chocolate?

How about a milkshake?

Our milkshakes are freshly made to order, with the classic favourites always popular — chocolate, strawberry and banana.

But we don't have to stop there!

Fancy a white chocolate milkshake? Absolutely.

Pumpkin spice? Why not!

With our selection of flavoured syrups, there's plenty of room to experiment. So if you've got an idea for a flavour combination, just ask and we'll see what we can whip up.

After all, creativity shouldn't stop at the pottery table!

Something Sweet Is Coming Soon…

And as if all those drinks weren't tempting enough, we've got another little treat on the way.

We're delighted that The Sweet House will soon be supplying us with a fabulous selection of traybakes!

We're looking forward to adding some delicious sweet treats to our offering, because what could be better than a lovely coffee and a slice of something indulgent while you paint?

Keep an eye out for their arrival. We have a feeling they're going to be rather popular!

Sip, Paint and Stay a While

When we first opened Razzle Dazzle Pots back in 2010, the pottery was very much the main event.

And of course, it still is!

But these days, we love that a visit is about the whole experience.

It's an afternoon catching up with friends, a creative date, a family outing or simply a chance to switch off from the world for a couple of hours.

And having something delicious to sip while you paint just makes it that little bit nicer.

So next time you visit, don't forget to have a look at our drinks menu. Whether you're a hot chocolate enthusiast, a matcha fan or someone who simply can't resist a good latte, we'd love you to try something.

Come for the pottery, stay for the coffee… or the matcha, or the milkshake!

You'll find us at Razzle Dazzle Pots in Mapperley, Nottingham.

Great pottery, lovely drinks and a little time just for you.

New colours, beautiful paint stations and a few little surprises!

In our last blog post, we shared the exciting changes outside Razzle Dazzle Pots, from our lovely new signage and branding to the long-awaited transformation of the area outside the studio.

But the studio makeover certainly hasn't stopped at the front door!

We've been busy giving the inside of Razzle Dazzle Pots a whole new look too. After 16 years of pottery painting in Mapperley, Nottingham, we thought it was about time for a bit of a refresh.

And when we say refresh, we really mean it. Every space has had some attention!

A Fresh New Colour Palette

pottery painting colour chart for 2026

Gone are some of the old colours, and in their place we've introduced a softer, more contemporary look throughout the studio.

Our downstairs painting area has been transformed with a beautiful olive green, giving the room a lovely, relaxed feel. Upstairs has had a makeover too, with freshly decorated spaces, updated table settings and carefully chosen colours that work with our new branding.

We wanted to create somewhere that feels just as welcoming for a family afternoon as it does for a creative date, a catch-up with friends or a relaxing couple of hours painting pottery with a coffee.

The result is a studio that feels brighter, fresher and a little more grown-up, but still has all the Razzle Dazzle charm.

Paint Station - downstairs make over

Meet Our Lovely New Paint Stations!

One of the biggest changes inside is the introduction of our fabulous new paint stations — one upstairs and one downstairs.

We've given all our pottery glazes their very own home, with the colours neatly displayed so that everyone can browse and choose exactly what they need.

No more bottles scattered across the tables, and hopefully no more hunting around for that perfect shade!

There is just one little change to the way we do things, and we'd love everyone's help to keep our lovely new stations looking their best.

Here's how our new paint stations work:

  1. Take your white tile palette to the paint station.
  2. Choose your glaze colours and pour a small amount onto your tile.
  3. Pop each bottle straight back into its correct place.
  4. Take your tile back to your table and get creative!

The glaze bottles stay at the paint stations, please.

That way, all the colours are available for everyone to use, nobody has to go searching for missing bottles, and the stations stay tidy and organised.

And remember, a little glaze goes a long way. You can always come back for more if you need it!

We're really pleased with how the new stations look, and we hope you'll love using them too.

Even the Bathroom Has Had a Glow Up!

We really weren't joking when we said every space had been refreshed!

Our bathroom has had a makeover too, and we've added a lovely new baby changing station to make visits a little easier for families with very young children.

We've also introduced something with a rather fabulous name…

Our Crustacean Menstruation Station!

Yes, you read that correctly!

We've made a little space where customers can help themselves to free period products if they're ever caught short.

It's a small thing, but we think it's important that everyone feels comfortable and looked after when they visit. No need to ask or feel embarrassed, just help yourself to whatever you need.

And naturally, we couldn't resist giving it a slightly ridiculous Razzle Dazzle name!

Upstairs in studio 3 at Razzle Dazzle Pots

Still the Same Razzle Dazzle at Heart

Although we've made lots of changes, one thing hasn't changed: we still want Razzle Dazzle Pots to be somewhere you can switch off, relax and enjoy being creative.

Whether you're painting your very first mug, working on an elaborate design inspired by something you've spotted online, or simply enjoying a catch-up with friends while you paint, there's a place for you here.

We've loved seeing the studio come together, and it's been wonderful watching everyone enjoy the new surroundings.

One of the biggest studio makeovers is upstairs in Studio 3 - the large monster mural is gone - don't worry you can still see them over on the video page - but we figured that now we are almost 'grown ups' that the largest space for painters needed to reflect that more sophisticated status.

There's More to Come…

Of course, you can't have a relaxing pottery painting session without something lovely to drink!

Over the years our drinks menu has grown quite a bit, and we're now serving everything from delicious coffees and hot chocolates to iced lattes, matchas and some rather fabulous seasonal specials.

But we think our drinks deserve a blog post all of their own, so we'll be sharing more about those very soon.

In the meantime, why not come and see our new look for yourself?

Book a table, choose your pottery, grab a drink and settle in for a little creative time at Razzle Dazzle Pots.

We're in Mapperley, Nottingham, and we'd love to welcome you.
